Dr. Charles Gewirtz received his doctorate in Clinical and School Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University and a Master's in Education from Azrieli Graduate School of Education at Yeshiva University. He has a wide range of clinical experiences, which include school, community-based and hospital settings. Dr. Gewirtz has treated children, adolescents and adults suffering from anxiety. While he currently treats people of all ages, his primary interest and specialization is in treating childhood mood disorders. He also has received extensive training in conducting psychological evaluations for children.
With training in a number of different treatment modalities, Dr. Gewirtz utilizes an integrative approach to psychotherapy. He helps his patients develop insight into their emotional experience and teaches them cognitive and behavioral skills to help enhance their quality of daily living. Dr. Gewirtz's sincerity, warmth and sense of humor make it easy for patients to feel comfortable and supported in their path towards successful treatment.
