Dr. Michael Greenberg holds a PhD in clinical psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he trained in both cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Dr. Greenberg completed specialized training in CBT for anxiety disorders and OCD at Mount Sinai Hospital, and in psychodynamic treatment of serious mental illness and character pathology at Nassau University Medical Center.
At TERRAP, Dr. Greenberg provides comprehensive cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety disorders and OCD. While this treatment is based on behavioral exposure, Dr. Greenberg emphasizes insight into personality and cognitive factors as the way to deepen therapeutic work and foster lasting change.
Treatment with Dr. Greenberg is collaborative, transparent, and structured. Therapist and patient communicate continually about objectives and how to work toward their achievement. The goal of treatment is for the patient to no longer need treatment.
Dr. Greenberg is experienced in the treatment of complex OCD cases, such as those involving sexual trauma, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, and medical issues.
