Dr. Kerry Torrell earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Binghamton University, where she also minored in Anthropology and became certified in Evolutionary Studies. She has practiced in inpatient and outpatient settings, and gained experience with child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Dr. Torrell practices CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The hands-on, evidence-based techniques practiced in therapy with Dr. Torrell aim to help the client learn to help themselves during times of distress. She also places a great deal of emphasis on building a strong therapeutic alliance and works to make therapy a safe and supportive environment for change to occur.
