Jaclyn Wolferd, MS, MA, NCSP is a psychotherapist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist who specializes in children, adolescents, developmental trauma, and mood/anxiety disorders. Ms. Wolferd was awarded a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from CW Post and a masters in School Psychology from Alfred University. Upon the completion of her dissertation, she will be awarded her doctoral degree (PsyD) from Alfred University in May 2019. Ms. Wolferd holds a limited permit as a Mental Health Counselor and receives clinical supervision by a licensed psychologist.
As a person-centered therapist, Ms. Wolferd uses an eclectic approach to best treat her client's needs, whether it be cognitive behavioral therapy or trauma-focused interventions. She has experience working with diverse populations and has worked as a clinician with children, adolescents and their families for the past 10 years. Since the start of her career, Ms. Wolferd has worked within a multitude of settings: schools, children's psychiatric hospitals, addiction treatment centers, and most recently at a residential treatment center for adolescents. She is a trained school psychologist with a breadth of experience in psycho-educational evaluations and psychological assessments.
As a therapist, her goal is to create an open, warm, and trusting environment to address some of life's most challenging experiences. Through fostering a non-judgmental and accepting atmosphere, her goal is to help her clients feel supported and safe. Ms. Wolferd works with clients of all ages and backgrounds to address such common concerns as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, communication, anger management, and grief. Ms. Wolferd's interpersonal style allows her to join with her clients by using humor and levity to foster a therapeutic bond and assist them with taking their first step towards healing and growth.
