Coming from a background in child and school psychology and eating disorders research and treatment, Dr. DeLuca is excited to join the clinical staff at Terrap Anxiety and Phobia Care where she brings her training and experience in Cognitive Behavior Therapy to an area of specialty practice that has always interested her. Dr. DeLuca is passionate about helping children and adolescents who struggle with excessive worry and the need for control by building a warm and trusting relationship with her patients and then teaching methods and techniques to reduce anxiety and encourage assertiveness and honest expression.
Dr. DeLuca studied psychology in her undergraduate at Adelphi University which peaked her interest in Eating Disorders. She furthered her education at Fordham University with a Professional Diploma in Counseling and School Psychology. After developing more of an interest in her field of study, she went on to pursue her doctorate degree in Psychology at Adelphi University. Her dissertation, which will soon be published in the Journal of School Psychology, is titled "Eating Disorders and School Intervention/Prevention Programs: A Systematic Analysis."
